Redkite’s Financial Assistance program
We can help families pay for everyday expenses and for some of the unexpected costs caused by childhood cancer.
How it works
Cancer is sudden and unexpected, and something no one saves up for. If money becomes tight, Redkite can help.
Who’s it for?
Parents, guardians, and carers of a child with cancer, or independent teenagers (aged 16-18) diagnosed with cancer.
What can Redkite pay for?
Rent, mortgage, groceries, petrol, electricity, phone bills, and more.
When can funds be accessed?
From the time of diagnosis until 12 months after treatment ends.
How are funds accessed?
Through our online portal called myRedkite.
Redkite was there for us when we were thrust into a world of unknowns. The offers of financial support eased our minds so we could focus on Vinny. They say it takes a village to raise a child but that takes on a whole new meaning when raising a child with cancer.
Levels of support
We have different levels of financial assistance to suit different needs.
One-off payment
$150
New Diagnosis Assistance
For families within 6 months of initial diagnosis
Use on Coles Grocery Vouchers or Coles Express Fuel Vouchers only
Funds available for 12 months
Up to
$750/yr
Primary Financial Assistance
For families under financial hardship
Available through an online assessment on myRedkite
Use up to $500 on Coles Grocery Vouchers or Coles Express Fuel Vouchers
Funds available for 12 months
Eligible families can
re-apply once each year
Up to
$850/yr
Higher Financial Assistance
For families under severe financial hardship
Available through a phone assessment with a Redkite Social Worker
Use up to $500 on Coles Grocery Vouchers or Coles Express Fuel Vouchers
Funds available for 12 months
Eligible families can
re-apply once each year
