Cancer is expensive. Treatment can put pressure on finances, particularly for those who need to travel and stay away from home, or young people living independently.

covering the cost of essentials

 Redkite can help cover the cost of many essential items, including:

  • Bills for electricity, gas, water, rates, internet and phone
  • Car registration, insurance, and in some cases, repairs
  • Rent and mortgage payments
  • Accommodation relating to treatment e.g. hotel bills
  • BP fuel vouchers and Coles grocery vouchers

Costs that we don’t cover include medical expenses, flights, whitegoods and business costs.


You can access our financial assistance program for up to 12 months after the end of treatment. Any information we gather is kept confidential.

Many of the questions our support team receive are about budgeting, super and insurance. We’re not financial experts, so keep in mind our suggestions may not apply to your particular situation, and you may need to talk to a financial professional to get specific advice. 

Your local Cancer Council can also provide information about legal assistance, accommodation near treatment centres, transport costs and other financial assistance.
