Coles Charity Champions: supporting a cause close to the heart

Leann, Coles Yarraville

February 2017 Out of the thousands of team members that work at Coles across the country, Redkite is thankful for the incredible charity champions that motivate and inspire their team to support Redkite, every single day. Leann from Coles Yarraville is one of them.

"Every now and then we have the privilege of supporting a cause that hits us right in the heart. Redkite is one such charity,” says Leann.

Over the Christmas period, Coles team members sold $2 donation cards in store, raising an incredible $1.4 million for children and young people with cancer. Leann’s team raised $13, 370 towards that amount, the highest fundraiser in Victoria.

“I always look forward to the Redkite campaign starting because I know my team can have competitions and dress up, but at the end of the day it’s for the kids and the families benefit,” says Leann.

Leann credits their success to her incredible team members who are passionate about the support Redkite offers families. She even shared the stories of families who’ve been supported by Redkite to inspire her team throughout the campaign.

“I could never imagine having a child with cancer and if we can in some small way support these families then I will do whatever it takes.”

It’s thanks to the incredible passion and drive from Coles Charity Champions like Leann that keep this unique partnership between Coles and Redkite reaching new milestones every year – and more importantly, providing essential financial, emotional and educational support to children and young people impacted by cancer when they need it most.
