Childhood cancer comes at a great cost

When eight-year-old Abdullah was diagnosed with leukaemia, his mum Reema dropped everything to be by his side in hospital.

His dad Yasir quit his part-time jobs to care for their other four children, which put the family under huge financial strain.

Reema says: “There was the cost of feeding me and my son in hospital, as well as supporting our other kids. It was very difficult and put everyone in the family under terrible stress. That’s why Redkite meant so much to us

With your help, Redkite paid some of the family’s bills – including their car registration.

That meant they could drive Abdullah back and forth to the hospital and keep life going for their other children. Abdullah is slowly getting better but is a long way from the energetic boy he once was. This loving family and tough little boy may need a bit more of your kindness.

“This is long-term, something that will affect our family for the rest of our lives. Anything to relieve the pressure on a family makes such a difference in the end.

I can’t say thank you enough to anyone who gives to redkite. You make such a difference for families like ours.”
