Daisy’s story
Your kindness brings love to families during their darkest days.

When Daisy was just four and a half months old, she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Her parents, Jacinta and Matt, were thrown into a terrifying world of hospital stays, medical procedures, and uncertainty.
At 2am on New Year’s Day, Jacinta and Matt heard the devastating words: “Your baby has cancer.” They were overwhelmed with fear, questions, and uncertainty.
How would they manage work? Who would take care of their son Jack? How would they afford to stay together as a family?

That’s where Redkite stepped in and provided them with a Diagnosis Support Pack—the iconic Red Bag filled with essentials to help them through those first overwhelming days. Jacinta and Matt also received grocery and fuel vouchers so they could focus on what mattered most—being there for Daisy and one another.
“The biggest thing is just knowing that there are people willing to help.”
The financial and emotional toll of childhood cancer is immense. Families face staggering medical costs, lost income, and the emotional strain of watching their child fight for their life.
Because of the generosity of the Redkite community, Daisy’s family received:
- Fuel vouchers so Matt could visit Daisy in the hospital
- Books to help Jack understand his sister’s illness
- Music therapy to bring moments of joy into Daisy’s hospital days
- Counselling to help the whole family heal

Daisy is now six years old. She has started school, takes ballet lessons to strengthen her muscles, and dreams of becoming a vet.
She is here today because of the kindness of Redkite community.
But for many other families, the journey is just beginning. Right now, parents are facing the same heartbreak, unsure of how they will cope.
Your support can make a difference. Donate today to help families facing childhood cancer.
