Justin Stevens has been the ABC’s Director, News since April 2022. In this role he oversees the ABC’s news operations in metro and regional Australia and internationally and all its digital, radio and TV news and current affairs output.
This includes the ABC NEWS website and app; the ABC’s news content on third-party channels; continuous news channels ABC NEWS Channel and NewsRadio; the ABC’s news podcasts; the eight state and territory 7PM News editions; current affairs programs News Breakfast, 7.30, Four Corners, Australian Story, Q+A, Foreign Correspondent and Insiders; audio programs AM, PM, The World Today and RN Breakfast; Behind The News; the Asia-Pacific Newsroom; regional radio; and Emergency Broadcasting.
Previously Justin was Executive Producer of the ABC’s national nightly current affairs flagship program 7.30 from 2018 until 2022. He joined the ABC in 2006 working as a producer on programs including 7.30 and Four Corners and documentary series Keating: the Interviews and The Killing Season. His work has been recognised with Logie and AACTA awards and Walkley nominations. His first job in the media was as a researcher for the Nine Network on Sunday and for Geoffrey Robertson’s Hypotheticals.
Justin’s son Harry has had leukemia twice, and his father Michael for many years worked as a paediatric oncologist at the Children’s Hospital and Westmead.
Craig has more than 25 years’ experience in financial services, including as CEO of AMP Limited from January 2008 to December 2013. Craig was previously a Non-Executive Director of Westpac and Chair of The Australian Ballet. He is a former Chair of the Financial Services Council, the Australian Government’s Fintech Advisory Group, and Stone and Chalk Limited. Craig was also a Panel member of the Australian Government’s Financial System Inquiry.
Craig is currently the Chair of Telstra Group Limited and a Non-Executive Director of Lion and MLC Limited. Craig holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
