myRedkite FAQs

If your child’s cancer is making it hard to pay the household bills, register with myRedkite.

myRedkite is where families and health professionals can register for financial assistance and learn more about other support we provide.

Here are some of the frequently asked questions that we receive but if they don’t answer your question, please feel free to contact us.

Redkite’s Financial Assistance program offers various levels of assistance including New Diagnosis Assistance, Primary Financial Assistance and Higher Needs Assistance. New Diagnosis Assistance is available to families who have been diagnosed in the last six months and includes $150 in Coles vouchers for food or fuel.

Primary Financial Assistance and Higher Needs Assistance are for families experiencing financial hardship. Eligible families may select to receive food and fuel vouchers or upload essential household bills for Redkite to pay, in keeping with funding remaining.

You can check the remaining balance on the vouchers on your shopping receipt after each purchase.

You can use Coles vouchers to purchase any essential items from any Coles store around Australia. Coles Express vouchers can be used to purchase fuel and essential items from Coles Express stores across Australia.

If eligible for Redkite’s Primary Financial Assistance or Higher Needs Assistance, Redkite can help pay for bills like: 

Phone, electricity and internet bills

Car registration and insurance

Rent and mortgage

Accommodation for treatment, like hotel costs

Unfortunately, Redkite is unable to cover medical expenses (private health insurance, rehabilitation costs or ambulance fees), business expenses, tv or streaming service subscriptions (Foxtel, Netflix, Stan) and other travel-related costs (road tolls, flights or taxi subsidisation).
