Your chance to volunteer at a Brisbane Broncos match

February 2019 Are you an NRL fan who wants to make a difference to children and young people with cancer? We have the perfect volunteer opportunity for you! As a Brisbane Broncos charity partner, we’re taking part in their iconic 50:50 charity raffle at the game on Thursday 28 March.

The volunteer role

In teams of two or three, passionate Redkite volunteers will sell raffle tickets to Broncos and St George Dragons fans at the game. You’ll be in and around the stadium, selling tickets digitally and with cash until the end of half-time. It’s a fun, friendly event and a great opportunity for team-building or connecting with friends and family! You’ll also be able to see parts of the game and soak up the incredible atmosphere.

Why is this role important?

As a permanent fixture at Broncos home games, this fundraising activity is hugely popular with fans – especially because they have a chance to win 50% of the total sales pool! Another 30% goes to the Broncos’ local charity partners and the final 20% to Redkite to help children and young people with cancer. We will also receive an extra $3,000 grant to support families facing cancer and we have the chance to win a further $10,000 at the end of the season.

The raffle is a wonderful opportunity to raise much-needed funds and awareness for Redkite’s work supporting families facing cancer. We estimate that your hard work could raise between $8,000 and $18,000 for Australian families.

The key details

Volunteers need to commit to the full shift on the day, from 4:30pm to 10:30pm on Thursday 28 March. The game is held at Suncorp Stadium and we recommend that volunteers make their way there using public transport.

You’ll receive a full briefing on the day from 50:50 Charity Raffle team members and you’ll be well-supported by them and by the Redkite team. We’ll loan you t-shirts and hats, while you’ll get iPads, bum-bags and aprons from the 50:50 Charity Raffle team. You’ll have regular breaks and light refreshments will be provided, while meals can be purchased on-site.

How to get involved

Please email Nicola on for your place on the team. If you’d like to make a group booking, let us know how many volunteers you can bring. We will also need all names, phone numbers and email address two weeks before the event.
