JB Hi-Fi's superheroes for children and young people with cancer

JB Hi-Fi superhero campaign

March 2016  If you’ve been into JB Hi-Fi recently, you may have found yourself face-to-face with a superhero. Our leading partner is currently selling superhero-themed cards designed by four of its talented team members for $2 each, with proceeds supporting children and young people with cancer.

The final designs were selected through an in-house competition. One of the successful artists, Amy from the Chadstone store, has created a strong, female character, drawing inspiration from some of her most-loved super heroes – Wonder Woman, Miss Marvel and Super Girl.

Amy had extra motivation for participating in the design competition. When she was 14, her mother was diagnosed with cancer. Amy remembers what a challenging and overwhelming time that was, and is glad Redkite is here today for families with information and support to help them navigate through cancer. Amy’s mother is now cancer-free, and is one of the two superheroes in Amy’s life, the other being her father – both of whom inspire and encourage her to give her best to everything she does.

Another talented team member, Marie from the JB Hi-Fi Myaree store, toyed with a few designs before settling on ‘Self Confidence Man.’ She says being self-confident is an innate but sometimes forgotten superpower that all of us have the potential to tap into, and with her design, she hopes to encourage more people to use this latent power.

Marie is all praise for her employer, JB Hi-Fi, for encouraging creativity at work and giving back to the community. She is one of the over 3500 JB Hi-Fi employees who make regular donations to charities - including Redkite - through workplace giving.

JB Hi-Fi’s superhero gift cards are available at JB Hi-Fi stores in Australia until 3 April.
