Double Your Impact This Christmas

The doctor said “Annabelle had nine months if we were lucky.” – Annabelle’s mum, Kathie

When the unthinkable happens, your matched gift can bring comfort and keep families afloat.

Annabelle was just three years old when doctors told her parents the words no family should ever have to hear. She had a rare and terminal brain cancer called DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma)— and only months to live.

“They told me: ‘Most children with this type of tumour don’t live more than a few months. Nine months if you’re lucky.’” says her mum, Kathie.

Against all odds, Annabelle lived another two precious years. But every day was shadowed by fear and heartbreak.

Kathie and Adam had to stop working to be by her side. Bills still came in. Yet every moment they had left with their little girl was priceless.

That’s when Redkite stepped in. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, the family received vital financial support—helping them keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. Most importantly, it meant they could spend precious time with Annabelle, their dying child, without the added burden of financial stress.

“We could have lost everything as well as our child,” Kathie says softly. “We could have lost our house if it wasn’t for the generosity of strangers.”

When the unthinkable happened and Annabelle passed away, Kathie and Adam were left facing the impossible — learning to live with their grief while caring for their three other children.

This Christmas, you can make sure families like Kathie’s don’t have to face that pain alone.

Your gift will help provide the vital support that gives grieving families strength to get through each day — and right now, it will be matched dollar-for-dollar, to double your impact.

  • $50 becomes $100 to help pay essential household bills when a parent stops work to care for their dying child.
  • $75 becomes $150 to ensure a bereaved family can receive counselling for as long as they need it.
  • $120 becomes $240 to help cover the costs of a child’s funeral so a grieving family can say their goodbyes

Send a gift today to help more families through the trauma and grief of losing a child to cancer.

Any donation before 31 December will be matched dollar for dollar by MPA, up to a total of $50,000.
