Connect Group for Bereaved Mums

We understand that the death of a child can make special days like Mother’s Day especially difficult. In this group, we will talk about the challenges that can come up, and what might be helpful for you during this time of year.

This Connect Group is an informal online group for bereaved mothers to meet and talk to other mothers who understand.

With two Redkite Social Workers there to guide the discussion, you will be able to safely share your experience, support each other and learn strategies that have been helpful.

We welcome all mothers and mother figures and encourage new attendees to join. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you like.

Topics may include:

• Managing feelings of grief, loss, and change
• Strategies to help you on special days
• Remembering and sharing memories of your child with others
• Parenting – Supporting siblings
• The impact of grief on relationships – partners, family, friends etc.
• How do I plan for the future?

We also welcome you to talk about any other topics you’d like to discuss.

This group is for you if:

• You are a mother or mother figure connected to a child who was aged between 0-18 when they died after a cancer diagnosis
• You want to meet and talk to other parents, guardians, and carers in a similar situation

We’re here for you for as long as you need us
