Autumn Shorn: Celebrating 25 years of incredible support

July 2013 Redkite is honoured to be celebrating the Autumn Shorn Committee’s 25th year of supporting children and young people with cancer through their bi-annual Autumn Shorn Ball.

The Autumn Shorn Ball has raised nearly $2 million for Redkite, with committee members and guests sharing a strong commitment to helping families across Australia.

Originally held at Bando, a shearing shed near Gunnedah in country NSW, the sophisticated black-tie Autumn Shorn Ball this year calls Sydney’s stunning inner-city venue, Doltone House, its home and will be held on Saturday, 27 July.

The Ball is organised by a committee of eleven volunteers, with members residing in locations across regional and metropolitan New South Wales and Queensland. The event captures the fusion of city and country people working together for a common goal – to raise vital funds to support children and young people with cancer.

"It is Redkite's 30th anniversary and for 25 years the Autumn Shorn Committee has walked alongside us to help provide essential support to families living with childhood cancer,” said Redkite CEO, Jenni Seton.

“Their loyalty and passion means together we have and will continue to ensure critical financial, emotional and education support is available when and where families need it.”

“The Committee has demonstrated real commitment with members passing the baton from one generation to the next. Redkite is extremely appreciative of the Autumn Shorn Committee’s dedication to children and young people with cancer.”
