Thank you for your support during Sun Up 2022!

In August, 928 amazing people across Australia took part in Redkite’s Sun Up Challenge. Participants spent the month running, rolling or strolling in support of children and their families facing a cancer diagnosis. As a result of everyone’s hard work, 27,088kms was travelled, such an amazing effort!

Sun Up participant Kerri and her son, Eddi, chose to roll their way through August. With the impact their efforts would make in the front of their minds, there was no stopping these two.

Friends, family and colleagues were quick to show their support and pride for our Sun Up participants and generously donated in honour of their efforts. Your generosity truly makes a difference in the lives of families facing childhood cancer. To put it into perspective, the support of the Sun Up Challenge is enough to fund:

  • Over 7,200 meals for families needing to drop everything to be by their child’s side for live-saving treatment.
  • Over 650 Music Therapy sessions to help children cope with the stress and pain of cancer treatment.
  • Financial support for over 250 families, helping to share the heavy load of financial stresses and extensive medical appointments.
  • Accommodation for over 180 families so they can stay together during one of the hardest periods of their lives.
A big thank you again to all who took part this year. Be sure to keep an eye out in 2023 for some exciting Redkite challenges!
