Fremantle Football Club players Ryan Crowley and Nick Suban showed they are a force to be reckoned with on and off the field by being part of the winning team at Redkite’s Corporate Quiz held in Perth on 30 October to raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.
With the help of Channel 9 newsreader Dixie Marshall, the team were crowned ‘Western Australia’s Smartest Team’, beating some fierce but friendly competition from some of WA’s top corporate companies such as Wesfarmers, BOC, and BankWest. Fremantle FC’s Ryan Crowley said: “It was great to be involved and test our general knowledge, although we probably had an advantage on some of the sports questions! “Fremantle FC is big supporters of Redkite so we were happy to take part in this popular event and help raise vital funds to assist families going through childhood cancer.” Hosted by celebrity MCs Russell Woolfe and Trevor Jenkins, the Corporate Quiz was held at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre and raised $175,000 for Redkite. This will provide around 70 families with real and practical emotional, financial and education support over the next 12 months through the difficult cancer journey. Redkite’s Relationship Manager Cathy Gregory was thrilled with the support saying, “The generosity shown by the quiz attendees on the night was amazing. Redkite receives no government funding and relies on the community’s generosity to provide essential cancer support services so we are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and made it such a fantastic night.” |
