Special memories at Family Train Day

Family's enjoy Redkite's Train DayRiding on a steam train, face painting and performances by Humphrey B. Bear and Chalky the Clown were the highlights for many families who attended the fun-filled Redkite Train Day in May.

The children were delighted as they got to ride the trains and learn about the history of the steam trains thanks to the knowledge and expertise of the train drivers at the West Ryde Locomotive Park.

Humphrey B. Bear put on an amazing show providing singing and dancing and was a firm favourite - not just for the children, but the adults too! Chalky the Clown made wonderful balloon hats and models for the children and there were giant games on offer to providing interactive fun such as Snakes and Ladders, Connect 4 and Lego blocks to build towers with. plus there was a kite-making competition.

The Train Day was an opportunity for families to spend some quality time together away from the hospital and to engage with other families going through a similar experience.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers from BOC who provided vital assistance on the day, and to Earth Catering who provided families with a barbeque lunch and refreshments.
