Red Bags for children (under 15 years)

Once a family has spoken with an oncologist and had the diagnosis explained, a social worker or cancer care coordinator will offer them a Redkite Red Bag with practical items to help lighten the load in this stressful early stage. Red Bags include:

  • Toiletries
  • A reusable coffee cup and water bottle
  • Snacks and stationery
  • Activity books and coloured pencils
  • A teddy bear
  • Information about managing cancer and Redkite’s support

The bag itself is made of high quality canvas, so many people find it useful when they return to hospital for future stays and appointments.

support packs for young people (15-24 years)

Alongside our Red Bags, we also provide support packs for young people being treated in the adult healthcare system. These packs include:

  • Toiletries
  • A reusable coffee cup and water bottle
  • Magazines, puzzle books and a book light
  • A folding mirror
  • A diary
  • Information about managing cancer and Redkite’s support

The support pack for young people includes toiletries, magazines, a book light, an information booklet, a water bottle, a reusable coffee cup, a folding mirror, puzzle books and a diary.

we appreciate your feedback

We’re always refining the contents of our support packs to make sure we’re giving people the most useful items. If you’ve received a pack and have thoughts about what it should or shouldn’t include, we’d love to hear from you.
