Who can apply for a Redkite Dare to Dream Scholarship?
You can apply for a Dare to Dream scholarship if you:
  • Are aged 15 to 24 (inclusive) at 30 January 2012.
  • Either have cancer or are a cancer survivor.
  • Live in Australia either temporarily or permanently.
  • Are a previous Dare to Dream Scholarship applicant or recipient provided you have not received the NATIONAL Redkite Dare to Dream Scholarship.
    (One National Scholarship recipient is selected each year out of all recipients.)
How do I apply for a Redkite Dare to Dream Scholarship?
Fill in the application form and send it to Redkite by Friday 7 October. You'll find information on applying for a scholarship here.

What can a Redkite Dare to Dream Scholarship be used for?
A Redkite Dare to Dream scholarships can be used to:
  • achieve education goals. These can include high school,  tertiary or work related education goals
  • to pursue work and career aspirations
  • to follow a passion for a particular area of interest. This doesn’t have to be education or work related.
Past recipients have used their scholarships in a diversity of ways. These have included to pay for photography equipment, university fees, editing software, laptops, vision aids for use at work and flying lessons.

How much is a Redkite Dare to Dream Scholarship worth?
Redkite's scholarships range from $500 to $5000.

When are applications due?
Applications are due on Friday 7 October 2011.

When will I know if I my scholarship application has been successful?
Redkite will be notifying recipients via mail from January 16 2012.

Will the success of my application be affected by when I was diagnosed with cancer?
No the success of your application won't be effected by when you were diagnosed, provided you are currently aged 15 to 24 (inclusive) at 30 January 2012.

Who can nominate someone for a Redkite Dare to Dream Scholarship?
To nominate someone you'll need their permission to nominate them and a good understanding of their personal history. Previous nominators have included parents, siblings, teachers, education professionals and advisers, social workers, care coordinators and oncologists.

Can I still apply in 2011 if I have already received a Redkite Dare to Dream Scholarship?
You can apply for a Redkite Dare to Dream Scholarship in 2011 if you have already received one in the past, provided you were not the NATIONAL Redkite Dare to Dream Scholarship recipient. (One National Scholarship recipient is selected each year out of all recipients.)

How should I present my nomination form?
You can post, fax or email your nomination form and you can fill it in by hand or type answers into the editable pdf.

How do I return my application form?

What happens if I don't sign the media consent form in the application?
If you don't sign the media consent form in the application, Redkite will not ask you to participate in the promotion of scholarships or Redkite. Redkite supports and respects your decision on this. You are under no obligation to help with media or promotion and your application will in no way be effected by your decision.
