Redkite supporting families in flood and cyclone aftermath

Brisbane suburban street, Thursday 13 January 2011.
Redkite is expecting more families will need to access its support services in the aftermath of devastating floods around Australia and severe weather in Queensland.

Many families deal with both emotional and financial pressures when a child or young person is diagnosed with cancer. Recent floods and weather events will likely place even more pressure on families facing these challenges.

“We’re expecting that there will be families contacting us who have been personally affected by the floods or who may be affected by cyclone Yasi,” said Redkite General Manager National Services, Tim Rogers. “We’re here for those families and understand that this can be an extremely stressful time.”

Redkite provides the following support through the cancer journey: If your child has cancer, or if you have cancer and you are 24 or younger, Redkite is here for you.
