Redkite urgently needs public support to provide essential services to recently diagnosed children and young people with cancer before Saturday 30 June.

"We know 200 children and young people will have been diagnosed with cancer since we launched the appeal six weeks ago," says Monique Keighery, Redkite's General Manager of Marketing and Relationships. We are now seeking urgent support in the last three days of the financial year to help us support these young people and their families. Australians have been so generous and we are now just $16,604 away from reaching our target for the Redkite Chairman's Appeal."

Geraldine, mother to Nate, shared her story about the impact of Redkite's services to inspire people to help families like hers by donating to Redkite. Redkite provides emotional, financial and education support from the moment of diagnosis, throughout treatment and when families return home.

Redkite experienced the highest ever demand for financial assistance during May. Over $89,000 was provided to help families cope with essential expenses such as food, travel to and from hospital and utility bills.

"On top of facing cancer, the winter months often place extra financial pressure on families," says Emilia Armytage, Redkite's National Manager Financial and Material Support. "Heating at home is important when a child or young person has cancer. Low immunity is a common issue during and after treatment so heating is essential. Of course bills come in at a time when families have reduced income, so we're expecting to be assisting many families with their heating expenses as well as other essentials like food and petrol."

Donate now to support newly diagnosed children, young people and their families.
