Our board and regional councils



Redkite is governed by a passionate, professional and committed Board of Directors who ensure the highest level of ethics, compliance and governance of Redkite.

The Board reflects the Redkite values and works continuously to ensure honesty, full transparency and accountability at all times. Redkite’s Board do not receive any fees and bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise from a range of business and commercial sectors.

National Board of Directors:

Bob Every Redkite Chairman Robert (Bob) Every, AO (Chairman)
Bob is a metallurgist by profession and completed his Doctorate in 1971. He has held a number of senior executive positions with BHP and became Managing Director and CEO of OneSteel in February 2000, retiring from the position 1 May 2005. Bob, who lives in Sydney, is a Chairman of Boral Limited, Former Director of Iluka Resources Limited and is Chairman of Wesfarmers Limited. He was recognised as an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AO) in the 2012 Australia Day honours list.
 
Geoff Brunsdon Redkite Board Geoff Brunsdon
Geoff Brunsdon is a professional company director and is currently Chairman of ING Private Equity Access Ltd, a Director of APN Funds Management Limited; and a Director of Sims Metal Management Limited. In 2009 he retired as Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking of Merrill Lynch International (Australia) Limited. Geoff is a Member of the Takeovers Panel, he is a Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of FINSIA and a Fellow of the Institute of Company Directors. He is also a Director of The Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists and Purves Environmental Custodians.
 
Sarah Goodman Redkite Board Sarah Goodman
Sarah has over 15 years experience as a voluntary Director of charities and other non-profit enterprises. Sarah has also been a Director of a large commercial group offering financial advice services. Sarah is a senior financial services executive with 20 years' experience spanning risk management and compliance, governance, and regulatory affairs. Sarah currently leads the compliance team at BT Financial Group and has held a range of senior executive positions.
 
David Hind Redkite Board David Hind
David Hind is President of the Business Higher Education Round Table, chair of Skills Tasmania and is involved in a number of other education policy initiatives. In 2005, he retired as Managing Director Process Gas Solutions of BOC South Pacific. He was chair of The Australian National Training Authority and was a member of the Business Council of Australia.
 
Jennifer Horrigan Redkite Board Jennifer Horrigan
Jennifer is a Principal with investment bank, Greenhill Caliburn, and has responsibility for the overall Operations of the firm within Australia. She also has 15 years’ experience as a leading adviser to Australian and international corporations on financial communications and investor relations and has directed the communications on some of Australia’s largest and most high profile transactions. Jennifer’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Business, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance (FINSIA), a Graduate Diploma in Management (Australian Graduate School of Management). 
 
Chris Masters Redkite Board Chris Masters
Chris Masters is the longest serving reporter on Australia's longest running television public affairs program, Four Corners, having worked on the program between 1983 and 2008. Within that time he received five Walkley awards, including the premier award in Australian journalism, the Gold Walkley. He was awarded a public service medal in 1999 and a honorary doctorate in communication in 2005.
 
Tony Newtown Redkite Board Tony Newton
Tony Newton has had extensive experience at General Management/CEO levels in investment banking and international management consulting operations. Since retiring as a Senior Partner from Heidrick & Struggles (international management consultants), he has primarily been involved with his farming and viticultural interests in the Hunter Valley in NSW.
 
Ros Pinkerton Redkite Board Ross Pinkerton
Professor Pinkerton is the Director of Oncology at the Royal Children's and Mater Children's Hospitals in Brisbane (The Queensland Children's Cancer Centre). He also holds the position of Professor of Oncology at the University of Queensland.
 
Mark Rigotti Redkite Board Mark Rigotti
Mark Rigotti is the Managing Partner of Freehills, an Australian-based international law firm. Prior to this, Mark ran a leading corporate, capital markets and fundraising practice for 15 years spanning Australia and the United Kingdom. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Masters of Laws and a Diploma from the Securities Institute of Australia. He is also a member of the Finance and Treasury Association.
 
Helen Sewell Redkite Board Helen Sewell AM
From 1987 to 2001, Helen Sewell was an Executive Director of an ASX listed company. She was responsible for the construction of Australia's first specialist cancer treatment centre for adolescents which opened in 2006 at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth. Helen is Chair of Perth College, a private girl's school, and is on an advisory committee to The Australasian Sarcoma Study Group. In 2010, Helen was was appointed to the Order of Australia in recognition of her service to the community through her philanthropic contributions to, and executive roles with, medical research groups and organisations such as Redkite that assist young people with cancer.
 


Regional Councils

The Redkite Board of Directors is supported by state-based Regional Councils. Their role is to help build and support Redkite's local service delivery through the strengthening of community profile, networks and the supporter base. They also actively contribute to the achievement of Redkite's fundraising objectives.
