Redkite was originally called The Malcolm Sargent Cancer Fund for Children in Australia. The organisation was inspired by Sir Malcolm Sargent’s vision to support children with cancer.
Founding the Malcolm Sargent Cancer Fund for ChildrenIn Australia, Sir Malcolm Sargent’s vision was made a reality by the trustees of the Malcolm Sargent Cancer Fund for Children of the UK.The trustees established three organisations in Australia that shared the same vision, objectives and commitment to supporting children with cancer:
Consolidation and name change to RedkiteTo ensure that the same level of service could be delivered to families across Australia, these three organisations then consolidated into one national organisation under the name Redkite.
Redkite todaySince the mergers, services to children and young people with cancer and their families in Australia have been expanded and delivered by Redkite.Today, Redkite is a leading national cancer support charity. Redkite’s vision is to reach every child and young person with cancer. Children and young people from all major cities, regional areas and remote locations across Australia are supported by Redkite's cancer support services.
