Redkite families meet the Sydney Swans at special movie day

Families going through childhood cancer met with their favourite Sydney Swans players at a special movie screening for Redkite that supports children and young people with cancer.

Held at the IMAX theatre in Darling Harbour, over 80 family members enjoyed chatting with the Sydney Swans players who signed autographs before watching the 3D hit movie Under the Sea. Families were also treated to drinks and popcorn.

Sydney Swans are long term supporters of Redkite and Sydney Swans Co-captain Brett Kirk was thrilled to meet the families that Redkite assists. He said: “The Swans are proud to be associated with Redkite and we love being involved in this annual movie day with all the kids and their families.

“As footballers you think your week can be tough after a bump or a loss, but it pales in insignificance when you see what these kids go through on a daily basis.

“We hope the day brings as much joy to the kids as it does to all of us.”

Other Sydney Swans players who attended were Daniel Currie, Luke Ablett, Craig Bolton, Jude Bolton, Michael O’Loughlin, Ted Richards, Lewis Roberts-Thomson, Rhyce Shaw, and Brendan Murphy.
