Go red for Redkite!Your school can make a difference to families dealing with childhood cancer by participating in Go Red for Redkite!

Simply hold a red-themed fundraising day and ask students to make a gold coin donation to Redkite. It’s fun, easy and very rewarding!

Ideas for Go Red For Redkite in your school could include:

  • students and teachers dressing in Red
  • making craft projects in red
  • holding a red-themed lunch or afternoon tea
  • a sports game with a red team versing a white team
  • a fundraising night for parents using our Quiz Kit

Redkite is promoting 'Go Red For Redkite' to be held in Term 2 with funds forwarded to Redkite by 30 June 2010. please contact your Redkite office if you would prefer to hold your event outside of this time.

Redkite will provide you with the materials to support your campaign including posters, stickers and content for newsletters.

Q:  When should I hold my Go Red Day? 
A:  Anytime in Term 2 is preferable but you don’t have to limit yourself to this period. Anytime is a good time to raise funds for Redkite. We are grateful of your fundraising efforts throughout the year.

Q: What resources can Redkite offer to support our fundraising effort? 
A:  Redkite is happy to provide balloons for participating schools, posters to promote your fundraising and stickers for the children to acknowledge their involvement. Call your Redkite state office to place your order and quantities. 

Q: How should we communicate this fundraising effort to the parents? 
A:  We suggest you notify parents through the school newsletter or email communication.

Q:  Is this a tax deductible donation from the school? 
A:  The school is not eligible to claim a tax deduction if gold coin donations are received from students. However, if your school contributes over and above the student contribution, then this is tax deductible. Redkite donation slips will be supplied for individuals who care to make a greater contribution that is tax deductible.

Q:  How should I bank the money? 
A:   Please write a cheque for the amount received and post this to your state office along with a letter specifying how the money was raised. Do Not Send Cash. Direct deposit is available. Please email Deborah Hill at dhill@redkite.org.au for details. Redkite will gratefully acknowledge the money received. 

Q:  Can our school notify the media about our fundraising effort? 
A:   Yes, we'd be delighted if you let the local media know. Please let us know if you do as well. - we can provide quotes for your media release.

Q:  What age group is Go Red For Redkite suited to? 
A:   Any year school level can participate! The program is just as suitable for children in kindergarten to students in Year 12.
