Financial grants

A diagnosis of cancer brings extra financial demands for everyone involved. Caring for a sick child, particularly one hospitalised a long way from home, can cause strain on family finances. More often, income decreases while expenses related to travel and treatment increase.

For young people with cancer who are living independently, financial pressure is often even higher.

Redkite provides financial assistance for young people (up to the age of 24) and their families to help them manage the everyday expenses and keep their focus on the most important task of caring for themselves, their sick child and for one another. Assistance towards extra costs such as travel and accommodation near hospitals, essential household expenses and emergency payments are just some ways Redkite offers support.

Please talk with your social worker or care coordinator about how Redkite can provide you or your family with financial assistance. If you’re not connected with a hospital social worker or care coordinator, please call 1300 722 644 or email support@redkite.org.au
