Education grants

Schooling, further education and training are some of the most important aspects of young peoples’ lives. Long periods away from school or college can have a disruptive effect on a young person’s education, life skills and friendships. Redkite can assist children and young people keep up with their peers academically and developmentally by providing educational grants to eligible families during this critical time. Siblings may also have their education disrupted: education grants may also be available for them.

An education grant can be used to assist in a range of areas including:
  • tutoring/coaching
  • classroom support
  • pursuit of an area of interest for the young person (for example music, art or dance lessons)
  • developmental therapy that is not available through the treating hospital and its service partners

"Children who emerge from the frightening experience of having lived with cancer face challenges which are difficult to comprehend. It is at this very point, when they are once again trying to gain control over their lives, that the support provided by Redkite is so invaluable. The support provided through Redkite's Education Program has the potential to positively impact on the student not only in terms of their academic progress but, perhaps more importantly, on their belief in their own potential to achieve their goals."
