Revellers painted the town ‘Ultra Violet’ at this year’s Colour Ball hosted by celebrity Tom Williams, raising a staggering $90,000 for Redkite.
The colour-themed event took place on Saturday, 4 July at Harbours Edge in Darling Harbour, Sydney with Seven Network’s Tom Williams as MC. He said: “I put my exotic travels on hold to stay Sydney-side this winter to attend the ball and show my commitment for Redkite. It really was a fantastic and memorable night.” Partygoer Adam Vivelis who attended the ball enthused: “It was so much fun. Not only did I work up a sweat on the dance floor but it was great to be in a room with 400 other people who were all rallying behind the great work of Redkite. I definitely plan to attend next year.” The event is organised by the Y4K Committee and since its inception has raised an incredible $860,000. This year, the money raised will ensure around 40 families affected by childhood cancer are provided with essential emotional, financial and educational support over the next 12 months. The guests wearing ultra violet to great effect were treated to fabulous canapés and drinks, a silent auction, raffles and door prizes. The band Hit Machine was also a huge crowd pleaser. Redkite would like to thank its sponsors Haycom, Taylors Wines, Blue Pyrenees Champagne, Lester Brand and Harbours Edge plus all the attendees for making the Colour Ball such a successful night. |
