Christmas food hampers distributed


December 2011 Redkite Christmas food hampers are currently being distributed to 1000 families across Australia.

The hampers are designed to provide practical support to families during the holiday season. The contents include Christmas treats and non-perishable food items.

A mother who recently received a hamper says, "It was such a surprise to receive a hamper. It put a smile on my children's faces. They got into it straight away".

The hampers have been generously funded and distributed by Direct Group company, Innovations which supports Redkite in a variety of ways. TVSN, which is also a Direct Group company, promotes Redkite to viewers. During 2011 TVSN held a special 40-hour live presenter marathon during which over $90,000 was donated to Redkite.

Generally, families who have received financial assistance during the year receive a hamper. In addition, some families who have accessed other Redkite services may receive a hamper.

"The hampers are often a surprise delivery at a time that can be challenging for some families. We're so grateful to Innovations for their incredible support," says Emilia Armytage, National Financial and Material Support Manager at Redkite.
