Celebrities and AFL players hit the pitch for Redkite

Some of Australia’s favourite personalities will be showing off their footy skills for charity in the ‘Redkite Celebrity AFL Game’ on Sunday, 24th May which will kick off just before the Sydney Swans vs. Port Adelaide match at the SCG at 12.40pm

This annual celebrity game is to raise awareness for Redkite, a leading Australian charity that supports children, young people and their families through the difficult journey of cancer by providing essential emotional support, financial relief and educational services.

Celebrities who are taking part include Adam Spencer (ABC 702), Merrick Watts (Nova 96.9), Tom Williams (Great Outdoors), Les Hill and Peter O’Brien (Underbelly) and Angus McLaren (Packed to the Rafters).

Adam Spencer and Merrick Watts captained teams at last year’s match, with Merrick’s team coming out on top. Adam said: "Merrick and his team have been riding on the coattails of last year's win for just about long enough. A year is a long time in celebrity AFL and no one will realise this more than Mr Watts and his Underbelly mates come 24th May! The only thing we enjoy more than kicking goals against Merrick is kicking goals for Redkite ... so bring it on!"

The Sydney Swans are long term supporters of Redkite and are dedicated to helping children, young people and families through the cancer journey. Over 200 family members supported by Redkite will be attending the Redkite Celebrity AFL Game for a memorable and fun day out.

These families will enjoy a host of activities including a special lunch attended by the celebrity teams and AFL players, before cheering on their favourite celebrities and then watching the Swans vs. Port Adelaide match. A special Guard of Honour will be formed by about 40 children from Redkite families to cheer on the Sydney Swans.
