Bereavement support

Losing a child to cancer is one of the most devastating events that can happen to any parent and family. The grief of losing a child lasts a lifetime and special times such as birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas can be difficult.

It’s hard to know who to turn to for support after the death of a child. Redkite provides professional counselling support for bereaved parents and other family members through Telephone and Email Support. Wherever you live in Australia, Redkite counsellors are available to offer their support throughout this difficult time.

Redkite Telegroups for bereaved parents are also available. These intimate groups bring parents together, reducing the sense of isolation they often feel, while allowing them to share their experiences and learn from others about how to cope with the death of their child and, in time, move forward. Redkite also provides grants for face-to-face bereavement counselling to help families, as well as assisting with funeral expenses in times of financial need.
